Welcome to the Bug Tracking System for the Win-Test contest logger. Things to note :
- Always perform a search on both open and closed tasks before opening a new one. Your bug might already have been reported.
- Only one bug per task
Please don't ask for feature requests here but on the mailing list.
Thanks for your help. Olivier F5MZN and Laurent F6FVY
Task #176 — $ZONE msg variable should work with PROABBREV/NOABBREV, etc.Attached to Project— Win-Test
The $ZONE message variable can\'t really be used in a CW message if you want to send \"cut numbers\" (abbreviations) when the rate gets fast, and then switch to \"full zone numbers\" on a noisy band like 160m.
Similarly, if you set your zone number to \"03\", it always sends a full leading zero.
One might be tempted to put zone \"AT\" or \"T3\" in the contest configuration window, as this seems to fix the problem. But then \"AT\" or \"T3\" is put as your sent zone in the Cabrillo file, and the robot will reject it!
I think NOABBREV, PROABBREV, SEMIABBREV, FULLABBREV, NOLZ, etc. should work with the $ZONE variable exactly the same as they work with the $SERIAL variable. That way you can dynamically change it from band to band or from contact to contact without having to reprogram the CW messages.
